Full digitalization and artificial intelligence integration at a plastics manufacturer
Reading time: 2 minutes
A Central European plastics manufacturing company began transforming its entire operations with the goal of moving away from manual processes and switching to data-driven systems that operate using predictive logic.
In the first phase of the project, a comprehensive ERP system was introduced, integrating manufacturing, inventory management, logistics, finance, and human resources modules on a common platform. At the same time, sensor networks were set up in the production areas to record machine data, temperature, vibration, and other key indicators.
The collected data was used to build machine learning-based predictive maintenance models, which significantly reduced unplanned downtime and scrap rates. In supply chain management, artificial intelligence was used to optimize inventory levels, predict delivery delays, and introduce dynamic reordering logic.
On the sales side, automated recommendation systems and customer value models supported the work of salespeople by analyzing customer behavior and ordering habits.
